Community Youth Project

This project is for young adults aged 19-25, who have learning disabilities. The club runs from 5.30 to 7.30pm on various Thursday evenings, in Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge and Malling and Maidstone.

We run supported activities in the community. This is a great opportunity for young people to make friends, try new activities, improve confidence, and increase independence. Our activities are carefully planned based on suggestions made by young people and activities which promote health and wellbeing e.g., swimming, trampolining and bowling.

Please note that whilst a high level of support is provided, we cannot support young people in this club with high levels of behaviour that challenge. Young people should be able to access activities in the community in a small, highly supported group. Support can be provided for some medical needs and personal care.

Groups run from the following locations, with a mixture of community activities:

- Tunbridge Wells  - This group is now full

- Tonbridge and Malling - This group is now full

- Maidstone

This is a short-term project which will run to August 2022. This project has been made possible due to funding from Reconnect, a Kent County Council led, community-based programme designed to get Kent's children and young people back to enjoying the activities they enjoyed before Covid-19 as well as trying new things.
